Diablo Immortal Android March 29 update expands compatibility
Diablo Immortal Android updates are generally posted every two Thursdays, and rarely on a Friday. The latest update came today Monday at 2pm.
I went on a hunt to ask players to share whether their non-compatible devices have become compatible in this build. It turns out I was right. A new compatibility list has expanded minimum requirements for Diablo Immortal.
COMPATIBLE
Drozz1986, deric, and Bluevette confirmed their Samsung Galaxy S8 (Snapdragon 835) was no longer compatible after the December 3 patch. After today's patch, his device became compatible again.
Inmolatus Sama (Reddit Discord) informed me his Leeco Le Max 2 (Snapdragon 820 / Adreno 530 / 4GB RAM / Android 6.0 Marshmallow) is now compatible as well. He shared a photo to confirm.
Z3MOG, Modderboude and and Htreys354 confirm their Google Pixel 3a (Snapdragon 670) is compatible again after today's update.
@ManuelJRG confirms Realme XT (Snapdragon 712G) is compatible.
Felipe Krause confirms Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite (Snapdragon 710) is compatible.
Samsung Galaxy A50 (Exynos 9610 / Mali-G72 MP3) is compatible.
Why is this a big deal?
When Blizzard Entertainment updated the compatibility list in December 3, many players who had pre-registered could no longer see their pre-registration, and instead saw a "Your device is not compatible" message.
14 days after the compatibility list update, Blizzard posted a blog announcing Technical Alpha had started.
If today's update expanded the compatibility list, that can only mean that Blizzard is preparing to announce Diablo Immortal Beta some time within the next 14 days.
This matches with my recent prediction of Beta starting between April 2-15. April 15 is Day 100 since technical alpha ended. Past Blizzard games have traditionally transitioned from Alpha to Beta within 76-100+ days.
What Blizzard has said about Beta
During the BlizzConline 2021 press Q&A I attended, Caleb said the following:
"Our goal is to have a very wide list of supported devices; and in tech alpha, it started really narrow.
As we go to different testing phases, we will widen it so that our goal by the end of our testing phase and when we launch would be to have a very wide set of phones that we would support; and that even inside of supporting a phone, players would then have quality options to be able to do; and for phones that support the 60 FPS setting, that they can do that.
We’re also optimizing battery consumption, which is not really optimized and ticked off and something we will continue to optimize towards launch."
With the compatibility list expanded and updated today, this is a clear indication that Diablo Immortal Beta is rapidly approaching.

UNCONFIRMED
These aren't confirmed, but during Diablo Immortal technical alpha the compatibility list's lowest CPU was the Snapdragon 720 (in the Qualcomm side). Now that we have the Google Pixel 3a confirmed by at least 2 gamers, that gives us a slight idea of some of the devices added to the compatibility list for Diablo Immortal beta in theory.
The Google Pixel 3a has a Snapdragon 670. Therefore, in theory, all CPUs between the Snapdragon 670 and the Snapdragon 710 have been added. Probably, lower than the 670, but not confirmed at the moment:
Snapdragon 670
Snapdragon 675
Snapdragon 678
Snapdragon 690
Snapdragon 710
Snapdragon 712
This unconfirmed list of CPUs span several devices. If you have any of these mentioned please visit the Google Play and double-check whether your device is now compatible or not.
